Hospitality has always been a natural and spontaneous part of the fellowship of God’s people (Acts 2:43-46). It’s not only a wonderful way to build new relationships and deepen old ones, but also a way to serve the needs of those around us. In this way, we encourage the people of God to seek out opportunities to share themselves and their lives with others. There are many opportunities to do this, whether it is by bringing a meal to someone who is sick or inviting others into your home throughout the week.
Likewise, our schedule on the Lord’s Day seeks to encourage participation in hospitality. Every Lord’s Day, our morning worship service is followed by a fellowship meal. In this way, people connect on a personal level, for mutual encouragement, and thus build up the body of Christ.
